Tagged

I have been tagged by PlantBuddy a relatively new reader to my blog and although I don't usually 'do' tags I thought that I would do this as its a relatively quiet time of year. You will find my '8 Random Facts' amongst my post, so here goes.

Can you believe we have had Jake 3 months on Monday! 12 weeks 5 days to be exact. He does make us laugh, but is oh so stupid. I mean which cat happily sleeps in the basket that takes you to the vet!!!!!

1. The first snow we had after passing my driving test, my then boyfriend took me to a huge car park and taught me to skid. It was the business and I still use that skill when needed.

He idolises Tango and where ever T is Jake is close by. Tango used to get annoyed but seems to be getting used to it.

2. I have done a bricklaying course.

The plumber was in yesterday and needed access to our 'soil pipe' which is now in the centre of the house, so much furniture moving and removal of false walls ensued, which Jake thought was marvelous.

3.I used to wear a patch and glasses as I had a lazy eye!

He cannot open a door, he pushes his nose against it then puts his head through, panics and reverses at great speed and then repeats the process.

4. I was a Pixie in the Brownies.

He does love to play and has a pile of toys in T's room, he hadn't seen them for a little while due to her accumulation of 'stuff' when I uncovered them the other day and he was so pleased he rolled in them!

5. I have worn ‘Hotpants’!

He and Sassy do not get on at all and he does try very hard to dominate her he has two main positions he likes to take to do this, one is on the stairs, here he stops her from going up stairs

6. I have broken both my ankles twice.

He does not go out alot and still uses the litter tray, I'm not too worried and will ween him off it next year when the warmer weather returns. His other favourite 'power' position is just inside the cat flap so he can dictate who comes in. I must admit we find this abit worrying but I shall read my books to see what is advised.

7. I did an electronics course at college and built my own radio.

Although he is not the brightest cat on the planet, I know he adores T. Likewise she adores him. When she is in her room he sits outside her door and meows, you hear her get up and let him in, chatting away to him.
Prior to Jake she had been exceptionally unlucky with her pets, her cat was run over, her Rat, had to be put down as he had something go wrong in his head and her rabbit broke its back! He responds to her, will come when called by her he totally ignores the rest of us and acts as if we talk a different language! lol!
Anyway for more on Jake watch this space.........

8. I met my husband at a party and knew ‘he was the one’ he didn’t phone me for 2 weeks after. Apparently because he was getting rid of the others!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now I am supposed to tag 8 other people as I like so many blogs (see my sidebar)then please consider your self tagged, and if you would like to join in I would be honoured if you mentioned it was me that tagged you. It would be interesting to hear 8 random fact about you to!

Tagged Again!

Another '8 Random Facts about me' Ruth has tagged me from one of her blogs 'A Bee's Eye View'

This is the current view out of my patio doors, I have to clear the greenhouse pieces before the 8th August when the coal will be delivered!!!!!!!

1. I am scared of heights, I can stand on a ladder in the house, but don't do ladders outside although I have been on the 'London Eye' and the cable car up 'Table Mountain'! I just didn't look down, I looked out.

From the arch looking through the veg patch, which is not doing well, the onions and potatoes are doing fine and I have had plenty of lettuce, but no beetroot or spring onions. I have lost all but 1 plant of butternut squash. The french beans are not doing well either. Not sure where I have gone wrong or whether it is the weather!!!!

2. If ever I come for a visit please don't offer me anything with swede or turnip in, I can't stand them!!!!!!!!!

The chickens home, they are definately better here and currently we are getting 3 eggs a day.

3, My sister is my bestest friend and I love her to pieces.

I managed to mow the lawn yesterday but did not do a great job. Our motor mower packed up a while back and we got a push one, which to be honest is great, provided you keep the lawn short, let it get long and it can't cope!!!!

4. I was sewing clothes for myself by the age of 13.

The brugmansia has been kept in the shelter of my 'BayTree/Bush' seems to be surviving the awful winds we have been having!

5. I had some really awful boyfriends, and I mean really horrible. When I think back I shudder to think what I put up with. But it turned out alright in the end and we will have been married 20 years this August!!!

This globe thistle is at the bottom of the garden, my plants down here are really struggling with the shade from the 3 silver birch trees. I get no sun here at all until gone 12 o'clock. So most of my plants are now leaning for the light dreadfully. I may have to lose the flower beds and do something else down here!!!

6. I take a size 9 shoe and have done since I was 13. I was photographed and a piece written about my feet and the trouble I had buying shoes,in the Daily Express in 1978ish.

This is the windowbox (at the front of my cottage) my Dad had made on board ship, its teak! It must be 40+ years old by now I love it. I planted surfinas in here this year and they are not happy usually they are overflowing everywhere, its just not been warm enough for them! When I took this pic, I noticed you could see your own breath, when you breathed out!! Now is that the type of weather we should be having in July!!!!

7. I love the Simon & Garfunkle Album, 'Bridge Over Troubled Water'.

Some of my marbled nasturtiums.

8. I have more friends in 'Blog Land' than I do in real life!!!

If you wish to have a go at the 8 random facts about you then please do!!!

Double tagged!

I have been tagged by the crafty Vallen as one of her 5 favourite blogs and the photographic Anna. I am totally honoured as they both said how much they enjoyed reading my blog!!! Thank you!

Now I need to pick 5 of you ( all run and hide quick)so I will, but please don't feel obliged to do this I know some people have been tagged so many times or have so many readers if they answered all there tags they would not have time to blog!

With out fail I would always pick Lottie and Mrs Nesbitt Their blogs are so different from one another but are full of such info. I have already tagged them but fully understand if they don't/can't/won't do it!!! To this I would add a new blog I would always tag Ruth she is a person I have never met but who I feel drawn to! She has recently lost her husband so I certainly have no expectation of her doing the tag, I just wanted her to know I picked her!!

You must all pop over and visit Yolanda she keeps you up to date with gardening fashions and has the nost stunning garden, which I am going to pinch one day!

Then Petunias Garden from my photo a day blog she always has some useful info and beautiful pictures!

So what have I been up to today, well first off I went to the specialist and he is very pleased but has not signed me off, yet, I have to go back in 3 months!!! Then I spent 4 hours doing something I can't blog about because I don't want someone to know about it!!!

Then my neighbour but one, has a huge pile of wooden pallets that held his patio slabs which he was about to burn!!! I whizzed round at the weekend and persuaded him not to have a bonfire so my other neighbour and I are going to dismantle them, so I spent an hour today pulling some apart. I will have to keep going back this week! But they are really tough to part, well they did hold huge slabs!!

So what has happened in the garden today, nothing, zilch, zero!!!! Which is not good as I am so behind now. Provided none of my local friends phone up tomorrow as they haven't seen me for 2 weeks, I shall try and spend it 'outback'! But I have the builders coming in on Wednesday to fix the roof and I still haven't done any housework!! You see I have this problem, because I'm a 'big' lady I don't like people to think I'm fat & lazy!!! As you know I'm not, I just hate housework! So what do I do? The whole house needs hoovering and dustng, I have piles and piles of ironing, the bathroom and downstairs loo are OK, the kitchen floor needs sweeping and washing and in fact the whole kitchen needs a tidy up! But its sooooooo boring cos I'll only have to do it all again in a few days!!!!!! Aaaaargh!!!

I have a though!! (Only one a day aloud!) I could do the housework this evening or even the garden this evening!! Cunning! Must cook tea first then maybe a G & T whilst I think!!!!!!
