Sassy and Kathryn!

Kathryn arrived home from Uni late last night, and slotted back straight back into the routine, chat, chat, chat, chat, chat, chat!!!!!!

Now for some reason Sassy is acting very oddly, sleeping in the Chimnea!

Getting into plastic bags

and chewing it (see bits all over the floor!)

hiding in it and attacking anyone who passes...........

then she decided she wanted to join the girls in a game of monopoly and is waiting for her money!!!!

then got fed up with everything and decided to lie down and read the paper!!

This is definately not Sassy, she is quite shy and very private, so not at all sure what is going on with her???

A Frost tonight? possibly??

Well wasn't it good job I wrapped up the greenhouse the other day. According to the weather forecast theres a good chance of a ground frost tonight, so Mark helped me get all the important plants into the greenhouse. I haven't put the heaters in yet, cos I don't think I'll need them.

This is the Greenhouse with the plants in

and we still have too get this banana
and this Brugmansia, which is still flowering its little heart out, in! I think its going to be a very tight squeeze!!!

The news on Chimarnie is not so good, I'm afraid, the lump was definately cancer, apparently we have 3 options:- 1. do nothing and let him enjoy what time he has; 2. Steroid tablets which may slow the cancer down; 3. Chemeotherapy, where he has to go to the vets one day a week (indefinately) for 24 hours then once home he would not be allowed outside for a further 24 hours!!! For a young cat there is about a 50% success rate, for Chimarnie now about 14, it may give him a year but they can't be certain! MMmmmm some thought needed I think!

At night because Chimarnie is still not allowed out, Sassy and Tango sleep in the kitchen with the cat flap open, I'm not sure they realise it is actually open, because when I came down this morning and let them in I was very thoroughly told off. Here they are sleeping their night on the tiles, off!!

I'm bored, bored, bored, bored, bored!

So what mischief can I get up to that won't strain anything or get Tori into trouble with Mark!!!

HHmmmmmm!!!!!!

Aaaha the greenhouse, needs to be wrapped up for winter, all I have to do is put twiddly bits in grooves amd hold up the bubble wrap with some more twiddly bits simple and it was gorgeous today so got quite warm. So here it is before..................

and now after.............

The greenhouse is right next to the shed, and whilst I was routing around trying to find the bubble wrap, there was a massive cat fight on the roof of the shed, but on the side I couldn't see. When I had nearly finished bubble wrapping the greenhouse, Sassy appeared on top of the water butt, so I assumed it was her!!!

Then went inside for some lunch, it was so gorgeous that we shut the door to the lounge so Chimarnie wouldn't escape and left the back door open...... there we where, enjoying our soup and who should come marching up the garden path, yes you've guessed it 'Chimarni' wearing muddy boots! I only hope to goodness it wasn't him fighting and leaping off a 12ft high shed!!!! We then had to find out how he got out, clever b****r pushed open the small window in the kitchen, which is very stiff and jumped down from there!!! It is now shut and I have opened the velux instead!!!

Decided to do a bit of baking today, so what would you do with this lot then?

I did this.................

an apple cake, Mark will enjoy it, he's definately a pudding/cake man! I can remember when we went to stay with my sister, I think it was before Mark and I married, she always used to make these fantastic pudding especially for him! Spoilt he was, I'm sure everyone was surprised that I had got such a lovely fella and they wanted to make sure he stayed.... tee hee!!!!!

I was hoping I would be feeling a bit tired but I'm not, so all that I can do now really is tea and some knitting!!!!

Chimarnie is Home!!!!

I got a call from the vet before 9am this morning, who introduced herself and then 'ermmmed' for about 20 seconds. My heart went into my mouth because I thought she was going to say he had popped his clogs! But thankfully no, very bright, friendly wanting lots of attention and could we go and get him!!!!!!

So home he came, straight out of the basket and straight to the cat flap, to see if he could get out

but I had locked it so you couldn't get out but you could get in, so what did he do, banged, scratched and hooked the draft excluder round the flap to get it open!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So it is now locked both ways!!!!!!!!!

No hello, I have missed you or anything like that. He's checked all the rooms, run up and down the stairs like a spring chicken and is very restless. He found the litter tray and eventually used it much to his disgust!!! Is not impressed with the chicken/fish and rice I have given him.

Anyway I have boxes strategically placed at his favourite places so he doesn't have to jump up, he can step up.... so what does he do.........

Jumps onto a chair he never sleeps on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But he did stop in front of the fire for 5 seconds........

before he was off again................... so I have left him to it!! I only wish my recovery had been as quick as his!!!!

Oh and by the way look at how much this has grown

Doing well!

Just spoken to the vet and Chimarnie is very bright and doing well, he has had his drip removed and is eating a light diet. He has also done a 'wee' and a 'soft poo'. So all systems are working. Wish it had worked that well for me!!! I have to phone the vet tomorrow and he will probably be allowed home...... and this is when the fun begins!!! He is not allowed out, or to jump up! If you have cats you will know this is easier said than done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We obviously still have to wait for results of the lump, but until then we shall enjoy having him home!!!!
