'Harry Potter'-ing about the Garden!

Well she had a lovely time, came home tired and actually very cold! So tucked her up in bed with a warm drink and a wooly pully!

She didn't get up till late and I haven't seen much of her since either, she has the new Harry Potter Book!!!!

So I went out while the weather was dry. Do you remember this pile of wood?

Well at long last I have done something with some of it look.............

Looks quite posh hey?

Meanwhile down the garden, things aren't looking too good!

The garlic is looking really poorly, I had to dig some up as a potato had snuck its way in here. It has not done well at all. No cloves just like one big onion, only its little!!!

The Victorian Peas have suddenly burst into life, we have had a couple of pods, raw in salad! But tomorrow for lunch I think we can manage a pan full!!

The onions, well I wish I hadn't bothered still small

and one has gone to seed...

pretty though!

Something is growing on the side of my tree fern...

I wonder if I should be worried??? A closer look.....

It looks like some fronds are about to unfurl here!!!

Thursday!

I can't believe it is Thursday already, and I only realised when I recieved an e-mail from Mrs Nesbit.
She has started a 'Thought for Thursday'

it will occur every Thursday, and it will be a piece of anything which makes you think.
It could be anything at all.....art, writing, poetry, a picture, a story,
a fact.....the list is endless,
but it has to be something which has made you think! If you would like to join in then ad the pic to your side bar and think away!

So my thought for this week is

'Where have all the days gone this week? What did I do differently to make them go so quickly' I must rememeber not to do, whatever I did this week, next week so it will make it last longer'!

She has also awarded me the

The stipulations for granting the award:

It is called The Blogger Reflection Award.
Why?
The reason for the title is because this award should make you reflect
bloggers who have been an encouragement,
a source of love,
impacted you in some way,
and have been a Godly example to you.
Bloggers who when you reflect on them you get a sense of pride and joy... of knowing them and being blessed by them.
This award is for the best-of-the-best so consider who you pick, carefully.
This award should not be given to just anyone

Now to pick individuals is a task and a half, without all of you I wouldn't be here, I now have people who I can call friends, true friends and I look forward to meeting you all. So please consider yourself all picked.

I would however like to make a couple of special mentions, I know Mrs Nesbit has picked Ruth , so its a double wammy as I shall pick her too. I admire this lady so much, she has so much inner strength. To care with so much love and hard work for her husband when he was so ill although I know she never considered it hard work! To come though that and still have to cope with the trials and tribulations of widowhood and all the paper work that goes with losing a loved one, and blog about it all as well. And still have time to garden!!! You are a truely remarkable lady!

Vallen this lady cracks me up, oh how I wish I had known her a year earlier then we could have met up when she came to Devizes, a few miles away from me. I admire her crafting skills, how she gets a few bits a pieces out of her 'stash' and creates. Her humour, and especially her love of hydrangeas, what have you got me in to!

Finally Talj this link will take you to her balcony where just this year she has begun gardening. The reason I chose Talj is so much has happened to this lovely lady (click on this link to find out more) and it shouldn't have not at her age anyway. I admire her so much for the fantastic photographs she takes, for her fund raising and how she always thinks of others and the fact she never gives up and is game to have a go at new things (Gardening)

I could say something inspirational about everyone of you in my link list as you all inspire me in very many different ways so please consider yourself picked!!

Thank you!

Thank you for letting me rant in my last post, I am still simmering, but thats a mother for you, defending her young till the last, never mind the bad back etc etc!!

(I love taking these pics of the fronds all curled up on my tree fern)

Tori is being wonderful about it, she just says 'its his loss' me I'd have punched him on the nose!!!!

(The pineapple flower seems to get longer nad longer as the little flowers open)

We where one of a small group invited to the retirement do of her old deputy head at primary school last night, we had a blast! It was so much fun watching teachers faces when they saw her, listening to her talking to them about her future plans. The compliments she got was amazing. probably did her the power of good!

(Nicotiana sylvestris)

I cleaned the lounge carpet this morning, with 'No Wet Wonder Foam' brilliant stuff. Living in a terraced cottage my lounge is my hall so gets rather grubby. Having a beige coloured carpet was probably not the best choice but it is a 'Gladiator' carpet and takes a good scrubbing. So we had quite a work out as a bit of elbow work is needed but at least you don't have to wait days for it to dry out!

Once that was done we moved through to the kitchen, where we took all the blue & white plates off the wall and gave them and the wall a good scrub!

(My brand new beautiful hydrangea, I think I may go back and buy a white one too)

Why am I being so industrious in the house bearing in mind how much I hate housework, well two reasons, 1 I want to do some painting, 2 we are having a meeting here next week, to do with the floodlights! I can't let people think we live in a pig sty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(look at the size of the banana leaf)

Right well I'm totally pooped, so off I toddle to my bed, nite, nite

I am Furious!!!!!!

I am mad!
As you may or maynot know it is Tori's 'prom' on Friday. We have found a car/jeep for her to travel in. Her best friend since year 7 a lad named J was going with her. Now J's mother is a very 'strong' woman and is I believe also very lonely, when you get talking to her she just doesn't stop. She had complained about the cost of 'prom' cars so hubby and I had decided that we would pay for one anyway, but as we did at Kathryns prom, the car woud leave from our house, all parents welcome, dresses could be put on here, photographs galore could be taken etc etc etc.
Round here the novelty seems to be to arrive in what ever mode of transport you fancy, tractors, pedal cars, penny farthings, you get the drift.
Whilst they where still at school, J told Tori that his mum wanted the car to go from there house, I am sorry but if I am paying for it, and also Tori is the only girl in the party, then the car will go from our house, this was passed on.
Last night J's mother told Tori the boys would be going in an 'RAC' van (her neighbour) which means my lovely girl will be going alone and has been let down again. J's mother is a witch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't believe I will ever be able to forgive her, she knows what Tori has been through this last year and this is the icing on the cake.

Anyone have a spare handsome lad we could borrow to escort my beautiful daughter to the prom, they don't have to go in with her, just be totally attentive when dropping her off!!!!!

I'm Blue!

I'm not supposed to be here, I should be up with my Mum this weekend, but I cancelled because of this stupid pain I still have. I have had more blood tests, see the specialist a week on Monday and have a scan in August, so hopefully we will get to the bottom of this soon!

To take my mind of this I took advantage of the lovely day we had yesterday as you can see I really am blue...........

so what naughtyness have I been up to whilst hubby was at work.....

does it look any different, of course it does, it used to look like this. It had to be done as the new patio slabs for here should be with us this week.
I am 'chicken sitting' this week as my neighbours are on holiday, they have very kindly loaned us their old hover mower, so after I had finished the painting I set too and hovered, then I did all the edges.

Guess what
'I've done too much' my back is tottering on the edge!!! It really hacks me off, especially after loosing all this weight. So its going to have to be a 'take it easy day' today!! Not what I had planned!

I am picking a couple of bunches of sweetpeas every week now

can you smell them?? Divine!

and to end the day
