Bits & Bobs and Oranges!

Catching up on housework (blah) and ironing (double blah). I had a go at an ATC, I won't be posting a picture or doing anymore!!!

I am also trying out some 'Amigurumi Patterns' these are Japanese Crochet patterns. Just playing around, if they turn out ok I'll post info on them!!

I recieved some new Yarn through the post the other day from Yarn Yard (link on right)

I will get knitting again very soon, can't say who for or what I will be knitting though!

Doing a bit of research for someone's Family History which is proving to have a twist or two!!!

No I have not gone totally mad and decided to up my Vitamin C intake!!!
These are Seville Oranges, and what do you make with them?????????? Marmalade!!! I have never made Marmalade before in my life and as I am game to have a go at most things I thought I would have a go at Marmalade, well it is a favourite of hubbies!! I am going to freeze these as I have been assured by Lottie that this will be OK. Then when I feel ready we are going to have a Marmalde Day!! If you fancy joining in, let me know and we can all make Marmalade together!!!

The Great Pip Challenge

This is the Ginger, do you think I should take it out of the propergator now???

Natalie's yarns are just scrumptious aren't they - I think she has an amazing knack for making the colours look like the "natural world" !!! - The ginger is looking good - You are clever!

LoVe orange marmalade but never attempt making it myself! You are brave or perhaps crafty in the canning dept. I have made freezer jams and those are great and easy to prepare. My mother was a gal who knit always everyday and now with Dimentia
I have to cue her to pick up the needles..so sad..gone are the days of those wonderful hand made gifts.Enjoy the week!:)NG

love the colours of the wool. The ginger's going great. Think I'd prob take it out now so it doesn't get too leggy with the extra warmth of the propergator...but then it may not be a good idea to take advice from someone who has not even germinated anything yet!

Not sure about Ginger the Pip.
The marmalade will be great when done, especially on rye toast, with a hot cup of tea.
The Japanese knitting sounds beautiful, crocheting sorry. Post photos when you are done.
Don't give up on ATC's, practice makes perfect!

I have been badgering all our local supermarkets for Seville oranges, but none have shown up yet. They tell me it's been too cold in California and they are very hard to get. So instead of orange marmalade, I may make lime marmalade. We made some last year and it was a great success!

I have a great marmalade recipe, if I ever find some Sevilles I will take pics and post the recipe on my blog.

The yarn looks wonderful. I am almost tempted to begin knitting again. I'm so scattered these day, start lots of things but...!
Love the idea of homemade marmalade, but to tie two of your topics together, my husband's favourite is stem ginger marmalade.!
