So Much to do So Little Time to Do It!

Blogging between now and 2nd June (ish), will be a bit irratic. I have spent so much time in the garden recently that my house has been sadly neglected and my mother is coming to stay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She is the reason 'bloggin' maybe irratic! I may not have the opportunity to sit down and write. We will see!!!

Anyway the current state of the house is to be expected when you look at what has been achieved in the garden....

I am really chuffed to bits with how its turned out!

So whats left to be done in the garden,

I managed to fit everything into my little car and get it to the tip, when I came back I had to hoover it out!!!!!!
I need to edge the beds and then cover in bark chippings, what I can't decide is whether to use weed membrane or not as some of the plants will only be in for the summer??
Harden off the remaining plants that are in the greenhouse.
Pot up the tracycarpus and brugmansia into bigger pots.

In the house,

Well I did the whole of the lounge, up the stairs across the landing and the bathroom yesterday. Tori did her room over the weekend, so we just need to hoover and change the sheets. (Mum sleeps in here), Tori will move across to K's room which is currently full to the ceiling with ironing! So that has to be done today! Then theres just the kitchen and downstairs loo to be done. Not much really but my goodness I have neglected them and they are a bit of a state!!!!!!

Wednesday is cake making day! Its K's birthday on Thursday and on my way up to mums (on Thursday) I am calling in at the Uni to give her, her birthday presents and birthday cake! Friday we should be returning provided the appointment with the specialist goes well. Then mum will be here for a week!

Right must dash, got to take T to school she has an English Literature exam today, it is based on Lord of the Flies by William Golding! I did this for my exams too, but I can assure you my result was consideranly lower than I expect T's to be!!!!

Hopefully the weather will stay fine for your Mum's visit and she will be enraptured with your garden that she won't notice the house (which I am sure will be fine anyway). The important thing is to enjoy yourselves and you can tell us all about it when you have more blogging time.
Lord of the Flies was one of my exam books too. All the best to Tori for her exams.

Libby I'm impressed with all the work you have done in the garden. It looks absolutely great!!!!

I'd do without the weed membrane but make sure that the layer of bark chippings is a thick one. That will suppress most of the weeds.

How nice that your mum comes to stay with you for a whole week.

Lord of the Flies was one of my exam books too. What a small world it is, isn't it? I'll keep my fingers crossed for Tori!

Hi Libby,
Came here from Ruths blog, i think i am in a similar situation as you.We have not got an allotment, so we used part of our garden, ours is much smaller than youers and the bit we are using for veggies is 10ft x 6ft. Like the idea of a jungle garden, with everything warming up it could be the way to go.
Cheers Mark

Fantastic - I hope you entered it for that competition - it has to be a winner.

Have a wonderful time with your mum and family

Well, even if your house is absulutely spotless when Mum arrives, it will soon look lived-in again.... and that's the best sort of house. I don't feel comfortable in a house where you're scared of sitting down in case you disturb the cusions. No danger of that in MY house!
BTW the garden looks fab!

Calm down Libby! The worst is done....the garden! And you don't have to worry about rain halting the inside process. You've plenty of time.
I've got visitors arriving Sunday, my Mum hopefully included. Thurs I'm off to Chelsea so that leaves me 3 useful days to do it. I bet Friday will be a wash-out as I'll be clapped out from walking all day Thusr....so wish me luck for theother two useful days. I'm up early to get my computer out of the way before starting the blitz....kitchen first! Oh my!

Don't worry if the house isn't perfect...just enjoy the time with your mom and looking out at that beautiful garden (the result of many hours of joyful labor!)
Blessings!
