Deep in the Jungle! (pic intensive)

Hubby & I had a day out yesterday. It was a day out like no other I have been on! If you thought I liked tropicals, well think again after yesterday I am besotted with them!

There where animals running in all directions!

Under tall palms,

With animals getting closer

and closer

creepy ones

tall ones

we finally found some sign of inhabitation

where the natives where friendly and waved

and we sought shelter, coffee and bacon butties

This was the Hardy Tropicals forum meet at Akamba. What a place, I have never been to anywhere in the UK, like this before! I was so gobsmacked I only got photos of the carpark!!!!!!
I came away with lots of plants, which I forgot to take pics of!! New friends and tons and tons of inspiration!
If you happen to be in the area, of this unique Garden Centre then do pop in for a peek and a Fairtrade coffee or tea! If Easy Exotics are not your thing then just go for the experience, it is amazing!

Wow Libby....I know you and I have different ideas on gardening but I can totally understand you being gobsmacked. What a place and so carefully thought out. It is just amazing. I love the elephants etc, give a real feel to a tropical garden. Could you not have one??? or did you buy one???
Can't wait to see what you have bought. Everytime I read your blog I have to look up the latin names to find out what you are talking about!!!
Fun post, loved it.

I wanted either a crocodile or a big elephant! Apart from the fact we couldn't afford to buy a toe nail of either, can you imagine what accidents we would have caused driving down the M5 with one of those strapped to the roof!!!! lol!

That looks like some kind of 'Libby Paradise!' I am surprised you didn't strike camp and stay there :) ALthough it might have got a bit noisy in the night with all those animals parading about.
