Update!

I expect you are all charging round getting yourself organised, whilst I am sat back relaxing and to be honest a little bit bored!!! This serves me right for being prepared since November, anyway here is an update of my advent calendar

Getting a bit crowded now! But K tells me it is far better seeing it in real life than on my blog!

I received a parcel in the post from my blog friend Vallen, before I left to go up to mums and it contained a CD filled with lovely Christmas tunes, so I wore it out on the drive, just to get me in the spirit!! Thank you so much Vallen a lovely way to share Christmas with one another!

T has her last day of the term today! We plan to put up our decorations either tonight or tomorrow. How restrained have I been, my indoor ones are usually up on the 1st December, but it didn't seem the same without the girls!

It is really cold today, as I type at 11.28 it is still -3C and bitterly cold. The Rayburn is blazing and I am cooking a sweetcorn chowder soup for lunch, the front stove is lit too.
I popped down to the greenhouse and the small ones heater is misbehaving somewhat, so I have moved the important plants across to the big one as that is quite toasty! well, compared with outside it is! I shall dig out the receipt as I think I shall have to return it!

Right off to find something to knit>

Dreaded Monday!

I usually hate Mondays, its the day after the weekend and everyone goes to work, college or whatever. Its normally gloomy but today its brilliant sunshine and look what came in the post.............

a parcel............................ from my blog friend Vallen and what a lovely surprise was in side.

full of lovely woolie felted goodies all in my favourite colour which match beautifully with my kitchen! A super teacosie for the important teapot in a tea drinking family, some coasters to save my lovely wooden table from hot cups of tea, and pot pan holders so I don't burn my handies when lifting my pots off the Rayburn.

But did you see the added detail

sleeping on the sofa of my teacosie....................my ginger puss cat!
Thank you so much Vallen, these will be, I was going to say, treasured but thats not right they will be well used, and no doubt admired by many.

Things!

Now why would I publish a pic of my cooker and oven?
Because I slaved so hard cleaning it? Not on your nelly! I found a man who could!!! He took the whole thing to pieces, took it off soaked it in something in the back of his van, then proceeded to clena the rest of it!
Am I being lazy? Well Yes! and No! With all the ops I've had, I got a bit behind with it and never really managed to get back on top of it!
It wasn't cheap but boy was it worth it!! I forgot the linings had white dots on!!!!!

Anyone remember this? Well they sell it in Wilkinsons. Good old fashioned Coal tar Soap!!!

I have been knitting

and knitted T a 'hug' well thats what we call it! I've nearly finished a pink one for K too!

I have taken plenty of cuttings of Brugmansias for those people who would like them.

I haven't shown you the chickens recently. They have been most odd this year and currently we are only getting one egg a day??? I presume its because it keeps going cold and rainy.

Bunty as you can see likes to be right at the front!!!

I loved this pic of the 'Sedum' covered with dew!

Then a few more pics around the garden!!

There is a real autumnal feel in the air at the moment. we have had our Rayburn since 1990 and the earliest we lit was one Bank Holiday weekend before 1995! I hope we don't have to this year, maybe we will have an Indian Summer!!

Thank you Lottie for your parcel. I am very impressed with your vacumn packer thing! Loads better than mine! I shall be having a burger making session later this week! K opened the door to the postman then turned round and shouted through to me 'What have you been buying now mummy'!!! I said nothing and told her to open it, she was impressed with the lovely aroma's. MMMmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!

Lucky Me!!!

I recieved some fabulous pressies today, take a look

Ever since I knitted the bracelet for Kathryn I have been fascinated by this. I think the girls are rather keen that I continue!!

Lots of National Garden Vouchers! Which I am planning to use to buy these

BUT! When I get there I may very well change my mind!!!!!

My sister knowing me so well included in her parcel these seeds.......

she knows I like to try something a little bit different!!! So I will keep a diary of a Loofah Plant, when I get going!!!

But the bestest, bestest present of all was

I wore this necklace on my wedding day! But sadly the neurotic dog we used to have broke it along with 2 others about 6+ years ago! Kathryn said I had them out a while back (she has the memory of an elephant)anyway she pinched it when I was in hospital and she and Mark got it repaired!!!! It is a great favourite of mine and I am thrilled to bits to be wearing it again!!!!

I have had a most wonderful day, with my family. I have recieved some lovely cards, infact I have had more cards this year than I have had for a long time, thank you everyone.

I'm sorry Kathryn, for putting the pic of you and Lee on the blog, but you know what Aunty Cal is like!!!!! He seems very nice, although how you two will ever make a decision I will never know!!!!!
