Home again, home again, Jiggety Jig!
Took K up to Uni for her exam. Her University is in one of the areas affected by the torrential rain we have been having and all the flood barriers where up!
This first pic was taken whilst travelling at speed up the M5 motorway (I was not driving)this was the River Severn , more like lake now!
then as we drove around the ring road into Worcester you got this
The next pics are in Worcester Centre taken by K
Showing the flood barrier doing whats it is supposed to! Looking across the River at the Rowing club which normally has about 20+ steps down the the Rivers edge!
Now looking back at the barrier
In this pic you can just about see the tops of the trees (about 20ft out)which edge the path we walked along last year!
The Race course where the New Worcester University Library is supposed to be being built?????
Then on the journey home yesterday K took these
now this looked fun!

I love that there are people in the world that see the good side of some of the worst things life can throw at us..... that kite surfing does look fun. It all looks bad though - and I DO hope they're going to build that library really tall, with all the books at the top!
That's a lot of water, has it stopped raining yet? Incredible floods. I feel sorry for anyone who had had their house flooded, and for the farmers who can't get to their land.
I saw people kite surfing in Florida, but that was on the ocean, not on floods!
That is one brave windsurfer - cold water and spiky trees. My goodness what do the locks look like with all that water?
Its good to see the barriers working. I stayed there once when it flooded - in fact it regularly floods the cricket ground doesn't it - being a flood plain - but doesn't usually hang around for so long. They will have to build the library on stilts.
wow!! Thats some serious water but YAY! for the barrier as it certainly seems to be doing a grand job! Hope you are having a nice weekend {{HUGS}} :o)
Phew! The weather is really all over the place at the moment! Wonder if it will ever be as it was.....I doubt it!
Phew, glad to see that the barriers are holding the water in but oh boy is that a lot of water!!!!!Are you in danger of flooding Libby?
Kite surfing is fun but not if you hit a submerged tree. ;-)
