Doing a bit in the Garden!

I thought I would get out and do a bit of tidying in the garden before the rain comes later in the week! Then I thought some of you might not know the route I have to take with my rubbish when the compost bins are full so follow me......

up the garden.....

across the patio......

through the dining room and kitchen......

through the lounge......

through the porch and out.......

Very easy, the mower goes out this way when I mow across the road, the chickens came in this way, rain, wind hail or sun it all goes in and out my front door!

Anyway I did some clearing and I need to move a 'dogwood'! which has outgrown its spot and I wanted everyones opinion on whether to keep the flower bed or convert it into another vegetable patch! So you all understand whereabouts it is... in the very top picture its the bed on the left!

The yellow leaved tree in the middle is an 'Indian Bean Tree' the dogwood is on its left, there are 'hellabores', 'lillies', alliums', ladies mantal' a slow growing conifer, a rose that is covered in blackspot but I don't want to get rid of it because its one my dad gave to my sister and she gave me a cutting, loads of grape hyacinth, daffodils etc etc.
So suggestions please..........

With so many spring time bulbs - making it into a veggie patch will be such a shame but I am very much a veggie grower - but love flowers.

If you grow veggies to supplement your diet rather than to be self sufficient, just carry on doing as you are, and grow things you can't get in the shops or if you can are yuk.

If you want to be as self sufficient and as organic as you can - the veggies are the way.

Do you have another garden 'over the road' then?

Your home looks like a wonderful tardis that goes on and on forever - so too the gorgeous garden.

Yep, the cottage is often refered to as a tardis!!! I must admit I do like the flowers.... so maybe I should do a Geoff Hamilton and have that bed like his ornamental kitchen garden!!
