Should Have Done It Years Ago!

I'm really glad we fitted the water butt closest to the house at the weekend! This is the 8th one in the garden now! We bought a really big one this time, not your usual 210 litre type! The recovering Caster Oil Plant which was dug up to make way for the butt, will do a great job of hiding it

All this lot run into it, down the down pipe on the left which runs to a soak away.

If it was feasibly possible I would dig up the whole of my patio and sink a massive, massive tank underneath and then relay the patio again, I could then use the water for the loos or just lots of watering.

So how many of you Brits had the monsoon type weather for about 30 minutes this morning at about 6am? It woke me up! I checked the butt and by golly.........

full to the brim!!!!!! Excellent!!!

Yes, here we had rain during the night, more still this morning! Eased off so I took Wilma up the lane...and got caught in the downpour! Sun came out a short while ago so nipped out to hang washing on line...now watching the sky! LOL! Amazed we had such a good day yesterday and avoided the rain!

Hi Libby,

Wish people here would all get water butts and water tanks!!!

I have a huge water tank and butts at every downpipe, I use it for watering the garden in the summer, Supposed to be 32c here today :-}

Take care

I've been meaning to look into one of those rain buckets for some time.

LOL, your water butt runneth over!

It would be great if we could use rainwater more efficiently than we're doing now.

I'm impressed by the fact that you have 8 water butts. I've got 3 but will buy at least two more!

I would love to be able to reuse more of my grey water and rain water, its hiding the tanks which is the problem. Lucky you have so many water butts

We had our down pour at 9.....just as we were walking from the carpark to the college....we were difinitely the wettest of rats! The water butt will be such a boon to your garden....next year...when we have that heatwave (perhaps)
